President to Inaugurate the Simultaneous Indonesian Agriculture Exports
On August 14, President Joko Widodo virtually inaugurated the simultaneous exports of Indonesia’s agriculture product valued at IDR 7.29 trillion (~US$ 500 million) that is shipped out through 17 export gates in 17 provinces across Indonesia.
The President stated the export of Indonesian agriculture’s raw commodities is now prohibited. He has also ordered Indonesian agricultural products to be connected with the global supply chain to boost the export, especially bird’s nest, porang plant (Amorphophallus muelleri), essential oils, edamame, horticultural products, and livestock. The president noted that of 514 cities/regencies across Indonesia, only 293 have prominent export facilities such as palm oil, rubber, and coffee.
