Minister of Finance: Good Progress of State Budget Realization and National Economic Recovery
On September 23, the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, stated that the national economic recovery and state budget until August 2021 are progressing nicely. The latter is indicated by the growth of spending realization at IDR1,560.8 trillion or a growing 1.5%. Specifically, the realization of spending by ministry/agency is growing 6.04% at IDR255.2 trillion (~ US$17.9 billion), which is dominated by the Ministry of Health to facilitate COVID-19-related affairs and Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs to assist Indonesian MSMEs. It is then followed by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), Ministry of Religious Affairs, and Palm Oil Public Service Agency.
The Minister claimed that the said spending is directly benefited the community. Among others are through the vaccination program for 63.1 million people, incentives to 118.8 million MSMEs, treatment for 453.28 COVID-19 patients, and school operational assistance for 7.6 million schools under the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Other than that, IDR 102.6 trillion (~US$ 7.2 billion) state budget capital expenditure occurred in the Ministry of PUPR, National Police, Ministry of Defense, and Ministry of Transportation to build infrastructure that is needed by the community. On the other side, the realization of the social protection (perlinsos) budget is used to distribute social assistance, subsidies, and other social aids.
