Deputy PM welcomes Myanmar anti-corruption official

Viet Nam is interested in promoting the traditional friendship and multi-dimensional connections with Myanmar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said.

He hosted a reception for Chairman of the Anti-Bribery Commission of Myanmar Minister U Mya Win, who is on a working visit, in Ha Noi yesterday.

The Deputy PM praised the talks between the Government Inspectorate of Viet Nam and the Anti-Bribery Commission of Myanmar and their signing of a memorandum of understanding on anti-corruption as providing a legal foundation for boosted co-operation between the two agencies in the future.

He spoke highly of the two countries' growing ties across various fields, saying there is room for the two countries' co-operation, and Viet Nam will do its utmost to foster the traditional friendship and multi-faceted co-operation with Myanmar.

The Chairman of the Anti-Bribery Commission said he hoped Myanmar will learn more from the Government Inspectorate of Viet Nam's experience in corruption prevention and combat.

He also wished that the two countries will strengthen co-operation in many fields.
